Bartender

Job Summary

The Bartender will be responsible for ensuring that the guests/patrons are served alcoholic/nonalcoholic beverages and food. Bartenders are also responsible for ensuring that their bars run smoothly and efficiently. He/ she will report directly to the Food & Beverage Supervisor/Manager.

Education
  • High school diploma.
  • Additional education training and certificates.
Experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in a similar position.
  • Suitable combination of training and experience.
  • Food Handler’s Permit.
Competency Level

This requires a basic understanding of the bar structures operations and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to a high level of customer service.
  • Assist in controlling bar stock/ inventory.
  • Control guest ordering process.
  • Assist in maintaining and improving standards.
  • Maintain all regulatory and cleanliness requirements.
Accountabilities
  • Create a warm guest environment by welcoming reading and listening to people to determine beverage preferences making recommendations and taking drink/food orders.
  • Select and mix ingredients garnish glasses and serve beverages to customers.
  • Take inventory to ensure the bar is wellstocked with beverages and other necessary items including but not limited to garnishes and glassware.
  • Display and stock fridge with all beverages that are in stock.
  • Provide documentation of inventory to the Food & Beverage Supervisor/Manager
  • Efficiently take guests’ orders and handle cash credit and debit card transactions ensuring charges are accurate and returned.
  • correct change to patrons balancing the cash register.
  • Create new cocktail recipes.
  • Check identification to ensure guests are of the legal age to purchase alcohol 18 plus.
  • Maintain a clean work environment by removing trash cleaning tables and washing glasses utensils and equipment.
  • Adhere to all food safety and quality regulations.

  • Constant creativity in the cocktail menu.
