- Configure backup for new clients.
- Create, manage, and change backup schedules.
- Run ad-hoc backups.
- Support OS/DB-staff on backup software installation when requested.
- Support OS/DB-staff on restore when requested.
- Capacity and Performance management – operational.
- Define and maintain procedures and work instructions.
- Plan, initiate and supervise execution of changes and the implementation and integration of new systems.
- Backup infrastructure (tape library, VTL) upgrades: hardware, firmware, or software.
- Backup software upgrades to backup servers and data movers.
- Prepare and support backup software upgrades to backup clients.
- Monitor performance of backup environments and the systems that rely on them.
- Create, manage, and change backup schedules.
- Installation, configuration, and support for enterprise class data protection solutions, such as EMC Networker v18/19, Commvault v10, Veritas NetBackup 8.2, Veeam.
