Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Maintenance Mechanics play a critical role in every aspect of AGC s operations. They are responsible for the preventative maintenance on various types of stationary and mobile equipment, and complete overhaul and repair work. Mechanics ensure the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance, quality repairs on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, pumping systems, conveyor systems, hydraulic systems, packaging machines, processing and automated equipment. The maintenance staff work closely with every department at AGC and therefore the ability to communicate effectively and work well others is required. Besides industry specific tasks, maintenance mechanics must also:

Properly manage time through efficient planning and prioritization.

Demonstrate flexibility and the ability to remain efficient despite distractions or diversions.

Manage assignments and make position appropriate decisions under limited supervision.

Contribute team projects in any capacity necessary to ensure the department s success.

Understand or have the ability to quickly familiarize themselves with technically complex equipment, machines and projects.

Have an active role in meeting production goals.

Demonstrate innovative thinking through shared process improvement ideas.

Work Hours and Environment

Standard work week will be Monday Thursday, 6:00am - 4:00pm.

Must be available to work overtime shifts that may include weekend and evening hours when necessary to meet production demands.

Some work is performed inside process plant with moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working at heights, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.

Some work is preformed in and around mine sites and underground work may be required.

Some work will be outdoors in changing environmental conditions, rain, wind, snow, hot or cold weather.

Working conditions in the plant are dirty, dusty, greasy. AGC provides employees with laundered uniforms and on-site shower facilities.

Will be subject to noisy work environments.

Physical Demands

Must be able to meet physical requirements of the job, with or without accommodation.

Climb on and off equipment frequently.

Perform work at elevated areas occasionally.

Must be able to lift and carry at 50 75 lbs.

Required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.

Bending, crouching, driving, sitting, stooping, walking, standing, reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping are all requirements of the job.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

MSHA certification or the ability to obtain once hired.

Valid driver s license. CDL preferred.

Experience in industrial maintenance

Experience with acetylene and electric arc welding preferred
