Transforma is a Latin American think tank founded in 2017 to foster climate action in Colombia and Latin America. We work to offset the greatest existential threat humanity has ever faced: climate change not just survival but to ensure that all forms of life thrive with equity justice and resilience.

Our impact

We currently address climate change from three pillars: Energy and economic Transition climate Diplomacy and the transformation of the financial system.

At Transforma we analyze the challenges and opportunities of climate change in Latin America. We enable an ecosystem where solutions to these challenges become reality in collaboration with governments companies and communities. We build bridges between key public private and civil society stakeholders connecting them to join forces and amplify the impact through collective action.

Purpose of the Position

Transforma seeks to strengthen its team with passionate professionals who are eager to contribute their expertise in engaging various societal stakeholders to address climate change in Colombia and the region. We aim to recruit professionals willing to take on the challenge of reshaping the climate narrative and creatively and strategically contribute to Transformas work.

This position will join our Energy team that promotes the Just Energy Transition (JET) in Colombia and Latin America through dialogue with multiple stakeholders to overcome its challenges (especially ensuring justice and equity and guaranteeing a voice jobs and energy security for communities).

Key Responsibilities

• Support the structuring and implementation of projects in just energy transition from Transformas energy team for 2024.
• Draft review and adjust technical proposals for donors within the framework of Just Energy Transition.
• Coordinate with management and leadership in activities related to the management monitoring and execution of current projects.
• Assist in developing strategies for sustainability models and financial analysis for Just Energy Transition.
• Accompany processes of consultation and international negotiation within the framework of Just Energy Transition.
• Facilitate coordination with the public and private sectors to develop strategies aimed at implementing current projects within the framework of Just Energy Transition.
• Conduct field visits to engage with communities involved in current projects as part of the actions outlined for Just Energy Transition.

Requirements and competencies to work with us

Education

• Undergraduate degree in Engineering or related fields. Candidates with a postgraduate or masters degree in energy or related fields will be considered favorably.

Experience

• Professionals with at least 8 years of overall experience of which 4 years have been in the specific field of the energy sector preferably in energy transition processes.

Knowledge and Skills

• Excellent writing communication and analytical skills.
• Planning structuring monitoring evaluation and closure of energy projects.
• Ability and leadership in consultation and negotiation with international stakeholders within the framework of Just Energy Transition.
• Knowledge of the regulatory framework of the energy sector.
• Advanced level of English (reading writing and speaking). English proficiency tests will be conducted.
• Ability to work in a team and collaboratively build.
