The Opportunity

We are hiring an Area Business Manager Northeast Africa for Animal Health (AH).

The Area Business Manager AH will be responsible to lead and manage Boehringer IngelheimAnimal Health business in Egypt Sudan and Libya to ensure achievement of its strategic goals and financial objectives. Furthermore in overseeing the strategic development for the region and ensuring that the business and financial objectives are met. Key tasks for this role include managing and planning the development of resources proactively work to create opportunities for developing the business in the region in accordance with company values and strategies responsibly and in a compliant manner.

This position is based in Egypt reporting to the Country Head AH NEW Africa.

Tasks & responsibilities

Business Commercial & Financial performance:
  • Ensure that operating plans budgets and forecasts are effectively executed to meet or exceed targets
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders and gather data in order to outline and prepare long term sales forecasts and goals for corporate review and approval
Business Planning:
  • Develop a deep and practical understanding of customer needs to ensure strategic and operating plans optimize the companys position in the regional and global market
  • Prioritize and focus optimal allocation of resources and energy on activities that will ensure sustained commercial success.
Sales Management:
  • Act as a driving agent for sustainable growth by maintaining and developing relations with external stakeholders
  • Follow up with Regulatory Affairs manager government authorities and Logistics to ensure that product registration required approvals and appropriate stock levels are maintained
Distributors/Stakeholder management:
  • Coordinate and follow up with relevant stakeholders to ensure stock availability stock integrity and any outstanding invoices
  • Oversee all activities of approved agents to ensure they are fully trained and adhere to guidelines policies and procedures
People Development & Management:
  • Drive performance people development talent planning and other processes to lead motivate and develop individuals crossfunctionally
  • Ensure talent is recruited developed and retained with strong success plans in accordance with companys vision policies and leader behaviors

Requirements

  • Bachelors in Veterinary or Life Sciences Masters degree will be a plus
  • 10 years of commercial experience including 56 years of people management/leadership experience is required within Animal Health in multinational pharmaceutical environment
  • Experience in Libya Sudan and other North African region is preferable
  • Ability to lead and manage a diverse sales team
  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills and Business fluent in English & Arabic in its oral and written form
  • Business Fluent in French will be an asset
  • Knowledge of finance topics and basic technical/product knowledge is a plus
  • Proven business analysis and judgment with the ability to proactively manage business and budget to meet objectives
  • Strategic development project management key account management problem solving and change management skills.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills
  • Autonomy decisiveness sense of urgency and ability to resolve and overcome hurdles and challenges
  • Solid understanding of healthcare and regulatory requirements and issues
