Application Engineer

Reporting to Product Manager MBU

Supporting Product Manager and Account Managers to provide technical solution & consultancy to customers and potential customers;

Supporting Account Managers for other technical oriented sales and marketing tasks;

Supporting in studying and evaluating potential market potential applications and markets;

A) Supporting Product Manager and Account Managers in presales work

• Understanding customer needs

When brought to a customer case working in the customer interface to thoroughly understand customer needs.

Converting the customer needs into initial technical spec for further evaluation.

• Bringing up solutions and conducting feasibility study

Working with Product Management Engineering and Sourcing to bring up solutions.

Conducting feasibility study from both technical and business side.

• Formulating technical proposal

Select the most suitable solution and formulating technical proposal to be presented to customer.

Providing cost base for further business analysis.

• Technical assistance in closing deals

Presenting the technical solution to customers and discussing with customer to ensure clear technical understanding between the two parties.

Negotiating and finalizing the technical specification with customers.

Expand and deepen the relationship.

• Supporting in aftersales technical work and transferring the technical understanding to the project team and product management

Providing technical support and consultancy to customers when needed.

In case of product quality issue Supporting Product Manager and Engineering in analysing defects.

• Developing DTs knowledge on medical CT market and applications.
• Collecting systemically technical intelligence from customers and industry.
• Upon requests conducting studies on certain application areas and certain technologies.
• Identifying opportunities for improved product functionality performance and cost.

• Profound and wide technical knowledge on optoelectronics or semiconductor devices and Xray imaging applications.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
• 25 years work experience in technical position with optoelectronics or semiconductor devices preferably in Xray imaging industry; Previous experience in the development of medical CT detectors or CT imaging systems would be a definite bonus for the job applicant.
• Fluent English language command both oral and written.
• Willingness to travel.
