Job Description
Job Title: API Developer
Contract Duration: 6 months with potential for extension
Location: Remote but must be willing to work PST hours
Visa Restrictions: None (H1Bs must be held by your firm no subcontractors or sister companies)
Top 3 Must Have Skills:
- Minimum 3 years experience as a API developer within a healthcare payer (i.e. health insurance) environment
- Experience with REST APIs JSON XML Parsing
- Experience with JIVA or QNXT highly preferred
Position Description:
The API Developer will possess a solid understanding of the interfaces involved in a core claims
processing system and will help the health plan solve challenges related to interfaces and APIs.
What Youll Get to Do:
- Use software engineering bestpractices to create custom APIs and interfaces between systems
- utilized for claims processing utilization management and authorizations.
- Examine current issues or problems with interfaces and APIs including issues with data flow/communication and incorrect results from API calls.
- Provide recommendations for remediation or solutions to key stakeholders within the organization.
- Help translate business needs into technical requirements and action plans for development.
- Interface with multiple business units as needed to ensure timely resolution to identified API challenges or problems.
- Keep management team and project sponsors abreast of status through regular updates.
- Work with implementation and QA teams postdevelopment to ensure seamless implementation.
Youll Bring these Qualifications:
- 3 years of prior experience developing APIs within a healthcare payer (i.e. health insurance)
- environment. Experience creating REST APIs
- Experience working with JSON
- Experience with Retrieval and Submission of data to APIs
- Experience with XML Parsing
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Prior experience working within the Agile/Scrum methodology.
- Experience with JIVA and/or QNXT highly preferred.
