ACCOUNTING CLERK
(ACCOUNTING/ADMINISTRATION)

Job Summary: To assure accurate accounting records for receipts and/or disbursements
presented to accounting. This is a responsible nonsupervisory position.
Duties include performing a variety of complex clerical and entrylevel accounting tasks applying accepted procedures to the preparation and
maintenance of accounting and other records and preparing financial
statistical and/or technical reports.
Reports to the Administration Division Manager or designee.
Essential Functions:
1 Prepares proofs and enters financial reports makes routine
cost distributions and posts subject accounts in accounts
payable area.
2 Prepares and posts accounting documents such as fees
receipts invoices requisitions expense accounts and related
operating reports.
3 Posts requisitions receipts and disbursement information to
appropriate ledgers and journals.
4 Files and maintains clerical records and reports pertinent
information to accounting personnel.
5 Prepares and mails bills or statements (electronically or
with hard copies.
Additional Responsibilities:
1 May audit or proof accounting or other reports for clerical
accuracy and conformance to company standard procedures.
2 May perform secretarial/clerical duties as needed by
various accounting members.
3 Performs other duties as may be assigned.
4 May proofread and post operations progress or other
reports as requested for supervisors use in preparing
financial statements.

Education and Qualifications:

1 High school graduation or its equivalent including courses
related to accounting programs.
2 At least one year of experience in accountingrelated work.
3 Any equivalent combination of experience and training that
provides the required knowledge skills and abilities.

Relevant Skills:
1 Working knowledge of accounting practices and accepted
office procedures.
2 Ability to perform a volume of numerical detail work with
speed and accuracy.
3 Ability to comprehend and follow complex oral and written
instructions and technical and /or legal terminology.
4 Ability to prepare financial and other records in a systematic
manner neatly and legibly.
5 Ability to establish and maintain effective working relation ships with coworkers a variety of employees from other
divisions and other company workers as required.
6 Ability to utilize programs to meet the electronic data
transfer needs of the company in effective efficient manner
