Job Description:

  • Play a critical role in producing precision components for aerospace applications.
  • This position involves the setup operation and maintenance of 5axis CNC lathes to meet strict quality and tolerance requirements for aerospace manufacturing.

Machine Setup and Programming:

  • Set up and program 5 Axis CNC lathes for aerospace components based on engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Develop and optimize CNC programs to achieve precise tolerances and meet aerospace industry standards.

Tool Selection and Optimization:

  • Select and install cutting tools suitable for aerospace materials ensuring proper tool geometry and wear resistance.
  • Monitor tool life and make adjustments to optimize machining processes.

Quality Assurance:

  • Perform comprehensive quality checks using precision measuring instruments to ensure components meet aerospace standards.
  • Make realtime adjustments to CNC programs and machine settings to maintain highquality standards.

Workpiece Setup and Fixturing:

  • Secure and align aerospacegrade materials in the CNC lathe utilizing specialized fixtures and clamping methods.
  • Adhere to strict safety protocols and guidelines when handling aerospace materials.

Collaboration with Engineering:

  • Work closely with aerospace engineers to understand and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives and implement feedback to enhance machining processes.

Documentation and Traceability:

  • Maintain detailed records of CNC programs tool changes and machine setups for traceability and quality control purposes.
  • Generate reports on production output quality metrics and any deviations from aerospace standards.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Adhere to stringent safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for the production of aerospace components.
  • Stay current with industry regulations and standards related to aerospace manufacturing.

Training and Development:

  • Stay updated on advancements in aerospace materials machining techniques and industry best practices.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior machinists to enhance overall team capabilities.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in CNC machining is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a CNC Lathe Machinist with specific expertise in 5axis machining for aerospace applications.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex aerospace engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC programming aerospace materials and machining techniques.
  • Familiarity with aerospace industry standards and quality requirements.
