Role: SAP S/4 HANA Financial Business Process Manager/Accounting

Start: Immediate

Duration: 12 months

Location: On site Tuesday-Thursday in Addison IL 60101

Job Description:

• SAP-experienced accounting/finance professionals with integration knowledge.
• Seek hands-on candidates able to diagnose SAP transactions and make recommendations independently.
• Exclude candidates lacking business process and accounting experience from SAP/project management backgrounds.
• Ideal balance between technical SAP skills and accounting/finance business process knowledge is unclear.

Role requirements

• Ideal candidate should have business operational accounting experience not just SAP expertise.
• Clarified that the role requires business operational accounting experience with a focus on supporting transactional accounting and integration with third-party systems rather than SAP configuration or project management expertise.
• Candidates do not need prior knowledge of the companys distribution business but must be able to connect financial needs and business operations from an accounting perspective.
• Ideal candidate should be hands-on in diagnosing transactions within SAP understanding financial operations and integrations and not primarily focused on reporting responsibilities.
• Solutions architect title may be closest to the desired profile but candidates should not be overly technical at the expense of accounting and finance expertise.
• Ideal candidate should have meaningful SAP user experience in a controller or accounting manager role including participation in transformation or process improvement projects.
• Candidate must understand SAPs integration and configuration impacts having been involved in core transformation teams and be able to shape business requirements across accounting and other functions.
• Hands-on candidate who can support the team in detailed operational tasks rather than focusing solely on strategic or theoretical work.

• Previous candidates submitted were not suitable because they focused on project management or SAP configuration lacking the necessary business solution architect skills

Background:

• This is a Technical/Functional SAP S/4 HANA role with a strong focus on core Finance and Accounting processes
• Someone local who can be onsite Tue-Thu as the role involves a lot of ad hoc work that comes up while at the office.
