Job Summary
Mater is seeking experienced and passionate Clinical Nurses to join the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team at Mater Hospital Springfield on a permanent full-time or part-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key leadership role within a growing healthcare environment supporting the delivery of high-quality patient-centred care within a contemporary ICU setting.
As a Clinical Nurse you will provide advanced clinical expertise coordinate patient care and support the ongoing development of nursing staff while contributing to a positive and collaborative team culture.
These roles will be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare at Mater Hospital Springfield. This state of the art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region. With a mix of public and private beds across ICU maternity emergency and medical surgical services its set to care for over 200000 patients annually.
Salary range: $54.45 $58.30 per hourplus superannuationandaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15900access to many staff benefits!
What youll be doing
In this rewarding leadership role you will contribute to safe effective and compassionate care delivery within the ICU through:
- Providing advanced clinical nursing care and coordinating patient management within a high-acuity environment
- Acting as a clinical leader and role model supporting excellence in patient care and professional practice
- Supporting and mentoring nursing staff graduates and less experienced team members
- Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes and continuity of care
- Responding effectively to clinical deterioration and supporting complex patient care planning
- Contributing to quality improvement initiatives evidence-based practice and service development activities
- Supporting operational leadership within the unit as delegated by the Nurse Unit Manager
About you
You are an experienced and adaptable ICU nurse who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care. You will also demonstrate:
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA)
- Minimum three years recent experience within Intensive Care or Critical Care Nursing
- Demonstrated clinical leadership skills and the ability to coordinate care within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative and supportive approach
- Commitment to evidence-based practice continuous improvement and patient-centred care
- Relevant postgraduate qualification in Critical Care Nursing or working towards completion will be highly regarded
- A genuine alignment with Maters values of compassion dignity integrity and excellence
