Position: Senior RPA Developer
Location: Canberra
Start date: July 2026
Duration: Until June 2028 with potential extension
Pay rate: Rates negotiable dependent on skills and experience
Security requirements: Applicants must be Australian Citizens and able to obtain and maintain a Federal Government security clearance.

Overview:

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Senior RPA Developer to support a major Federal Government program focused on delivering enterprise automation solutions. Working within a high-performing data and digital capability team you will contribute to the design development deployment and ongoing enhancement of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions that improve operational efficiency and business outcomes.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering scalable and maintainable automation solutions using UiPath and related technologies while collaborating closely with business and technical stakeholders in a secure and complex environment.

Responsibilities:

• Design develop test and deploy enterprise-grade RPA solutions using UiPath and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify automation opportunities and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Develop reusable automation components frameworks and exception handling capabilities.
• Support and maintain production automations including troubleshooting monitoring and continuous improvement activities.
• Conduct testing activities including unit integration and user acceptance testing.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation process documentation and deployment artefacts.
• Participate in peer reviews design workshops and governance processes.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior developers and team members.
• Ensure automation solutions align with organisational architecture security and compliance standards.
• Communicate project progress risks and outcomes to internal stakeholders.

Experience/requirements:

• Demonstrated experience developing enterprise-scale RPA solutions using platforms such as UiPath.
• Strong understanding of structured RPA development methodologies and frameworks including reusable components logging and exception handling.
• Experience integrating automation solutions with APIs web services and scripting technologies such as REST SOAP JSON XML and PowerShell.
• Proven ability to design scalable and maintainable automation solutions aligned to business requirements.
• Experience across the full testing lifecycle including defect management and quality assurance processes.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Experience supporting and enhancing production automation environments.
• Ability to produce high-quality technical and operational documentation.
• Experience working within large complex and secure environments will be highly regarded.
• Experience with cloud-based automation platforms such as UiPath Automation Cloud is desirable.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or industry certifications are advantageous.
