Role: Law & Motion Appeal Attorney

Job Details:
This role involves assistance to attorneys through all phases of litigation including cost effective motions for early dismissal trial and post-trial motions; and efficiently assesses key issues renders opinions and provides results.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced legal draftsperson with highly developed legal writing skills and an in-depth knowledge of the trial and appellate courts as it applies to motion practice related to medical malpractice defense.
Responsibilities:
Appeals
Designate review and analyze lower court records and other documents.
Monitor appellate dockets.
Research and analyze case law draft persuasive briefs as well as appellate motions and applications. andappellatedocuments.
Advocate inappellatecourts beforeappellatejustices.
Assist both in-house and outside trial panel counsel in framing issues at trial and in preserving the record forappeal.
Adviseboth in-house and outside trial panel counsel and claims specialists regarding writ petitions.
Support Law and Motion Team:
Prepare pleadings.
Provide support to attorneys as requested in litigation matters to successfully try and arbitrate cases.
Formulate creative pleading and motion strategy.
Obtain concurrence with claims specialist and attorneys for law and motion pleading and strategy.
Attend court appearances and argue motions.
Assist in compliance with the Defense Attorney Guidelines
Education:
J.D. Degree
License to practice law in California.
