Description of Duties and Tasks

• Instructs students in the advanced manufacturing semiconductor discipline. Provides learning activities that stimulate student involvement and encourage critical thinking.

• Develop and deliver semiconductor training

• Support the installation of semiconductor equipment on campus

• Maintains office hours to assist students.

• Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Workforce Projects Coordinator Manager and/or Dean.

• Provide instruction 3 of the following areas: Electronics Automated systems PLCs and Mechanical systems.

Knowledge

• Effective teaching techniques adaptable to a variety of learning styles.

• Understanding the comprehensive mission and philosophy of community colleges.

• Subject matter and related and/or relevant topics and issues in the teaching discipline. This includes but is not limited to blueprint reading; Electronics Mechanical systems Programmable Logic Controllers Quality principles and AC motor controls.

• A willingness to learn new technologies and processes as they develop.

• Sensitive issues relating to a multicultural student body.

• Principles and practices associated with Servant-Leadership.

Skills

• Maintaining an established schedule which may include evenings and weekends and multiple campus locations that vary.

• Effective planning organizing communication and interpersonal skills.

• Interacting with students of multicultural backgrounds.

• Effectively assisting student learning.

• Being punctual for classes.

• Maintaining confidentiality of work-related information.

Technology Skills

• Demonstrated proficiency using computer applications classroom or other current learning technologies for effective teaching at the community college level.

Required Work Experience

• Three years of related work experience in a technical field.

Required Education

• BS in Engineering

Preferred Education

• Masters degree or higher

Special Requirements

• Valid Texas Drivers License and reliable transportation for teaching at multiple locations.

Physical Requirements

• Work is routinely performed in a classroom or lab setting.

• Ability to communicate effectively with students.

• Ability to move cylinders steel and other equipment typical of a welding shop or lab.

• Ability to lift and move 80 pounds.
