Job Description:
Description of Duties and Tasks
Instructs students in the advanced manufacturing semiconductor discipline. Provides learning activities that stimulate student involvement and encourage critical thinking.
Develop and deliver semiconductor training
Support the installation of semiconductor equipment on campus
Maintains office hours to assist students.
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Workforce Projects Coordinator Manager and/or Dean.
Provide instruction 3 of the following areas: Electronics Automated systems PLCs and Mechanical systems.
Knowledge
Effective teaching techniques adaptable to a variety of learning styles.
Understanding the comprehensive mission and philosophy of community colleges.
Subject matter and related and/or relevant topics and issues in the teaching discipline. This includes but is not limited to blueprint reading; Electronics Mechanical systems Programmable Logic Controllers Quality principles and AC motor controls.
A willingness to learn new technologies and processes as they develop.
Sensitive issues relating to a multicultural student body.
Principles and practices associated with Servant-Leadership.
Skills
Maintaining an established schedule which may include evenings and weekends and multiple campus locations that vary.
Effective planning organizing communication and interpersonal skills.
Interacting with students of multicultural backgrounds.
Effectively assisting student learning.
Being punctual for classes.
Maintaining confidentiality of work-related information.
Technology Skills
Demonstrated proficiency using computer applications classroom or other current learning technologies for effective teaching at the community college level.
Required Work Experience
Three years of related work experience in a technical field.
Required Education
BS in Engineering
Preferred Education
Masters degree or higher
Special Requirements
Valid Texas Drivers License and reliable transportation for teaching at multiple locations.
Physical Requirements
Work is routinely performed in a classroom or lab setting.
Ability to communicate effectively with students.
Ability to move cylinders steel and other equipment typical of a welding shop or lab.
Ability to lift and move 80 pounds.
