A passionate and close-knit group which provides quality support to students with a disability and/or health condition on all campuses and is involved in outreach to raise aspirations and access to tertiary education. This unit also has the Deaf Student Support program supporting Deaf students with access to Higher Education at Griffith and other institutions in SEQ. Fast approaching 45 years of service in Auslan interpreting support and access to higher education degrees and pathways.
What youll do
- Coordinate disability and accessibility events and activities for students
- Support the inclusion and participation of students with disabilities
- Deliver and coordinate accessibility and disability awareness training for staff
- Work collaboratively as part of the Student Disability and Accessibility team
- Support students with a wide range of disabilities and medical conditions
- Contribute to inclusive practices across the University community
- Assist with service delivery across campuses as required
- Build positive relationships with students staff and key stakeholders
Students with disabilities include those living with any physical neurological sensory intellectual learning disability or mental health issues. It also includes any long- or short-term medical condition (e.g. cancer broken bones).
Some service delivery and movement between campuses may be required.
About you
You are passionate about creating inclusive and accessible experiences for students and enjoy building strong relationships across diverse communities. You bring experience coordinating programs events or support services and have the confidence to engage with students staff and stakeholders in a professional and empathetic way.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience supporting people with disabilities and a strong understanding of inclusive practices and accessibility principles
- Strong organisational and coordination skills with the ability to manage events training and competing priorities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to deliver engaging training and build positive working relationships
- A proactive and collaborative approach with a genuine commitment to improving the student experience
- Possession of or eligibility to obtain a Blue Card or equivalent Working with Children accreditation
- Flexibility to support service delivery across campuses where required
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as special education education human services occupational therapy or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education

This is a fixed-term (until 17 December 2027) full-time position based at Griffith University Logan. As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other locations.
Griffith Universitys sites are located on the lands of the Yugarabul Yuggera Jagera Turrbal Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.
Salary Range
HEW Level 7 FTE salary range $104504 - $113219 per annum 17% superannuation.
