ABOUT THE ORGANISATION AND THE ROLE
DYWIDAG-Systems International Construction Pty Limited supplies innovative products and systems for the Construction industry. We provide our customers with engineered and highly reliable systems for Post-Tensioning Geotechnical Applications Life Span Management and Concrete Accessories.
We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Purchasing officer to join our team based at our Cardiff site (Newcastle NSW).
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting directly to the Senior Supply Chain officer the successful applicant will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day operational purchasing activities and delivering effective administrative support within the Supply Chain Team.
As an experienced and eager individual you will be responsible for monitoring the quality pricing and performance of the critical suppliers engaged to facilitate DYWIDAGs supply chain functionality.
Key responsibilities include:
- Perform weekly manual inventory checks and analyse stock data using Excel
- Raise purchase orders and keep systems updated in Navision and Excel
- Prepare weekly shipment reports and compare freight quotations from forwarders
- Negotiate with suppliers to prioritise or expedite shipments as needed
- Monitor inventory levels and reorder points to maintain adequate stock
- Create production orders and follow up with subcontractors
- Manage daily sales orders and ensure timely fulfilment
- Coordinate goods movement and keep systems updated by working closely with warehouse staff
- Work closely with the finance team to ensure timely payment to suppliers
- Maintain accurate pricing in landed cost spreadsheets and Navision reflecting supplier price changes freight costs and exchange rate fluctuations
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail when using Excel formulas to analyse data & ERP.
This is role requires you to be highly organised self- motivated and have a can do attitude. The rolerequires excellent time-management skills with the ability to work in an environment with conflicting priorities to deliver outcomes with competing deadlines.
This is a permanent Full-Time opportunity with an immediate start for the right candidate.

ABOUT YOU
With demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced environment you will possess:
- Previous experience within a supply chain environment or similar.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and competence with NAVISON or a similar enterprise resource planning solution (preferred but not essential).
- Team player with effective communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Understanding of purchasing principles such as formatting presentations and reporting of Supply chain performance data.
- Possess high attention to detail and accuracy.
