Job Summary
TITLE: Custodian
EMPLOYMENT TERMS: Ten (10) Months
SALARY CLASSIFICATION: Classified Salary (NON-EXEMPT)
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES: To maintain clean facilities for students and staff which will enhance a positive learning environment.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
- Cleans all assigned areas
- Sweeps dusts vacuums scrubs waxes and polishes floors
- Washes windows walls woodwork and equipment
- Empties trash receptacles
- Moves furniture and equipment for cleaning and special events
- Replaces light bulbs and performs other minor repairs as required
- Provides building security as required
- Performs special custodial work as directed
- Performs other related tasks as assigned
CERTIFICATION: CPR/First Aid; Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.
MODERATE RISK OCCUPATIONAL CONDITION: Works with some hazardous cleaning materials.
SKILLS REQUIRED: Demonstrated handling of toxic and hazardous chemicals; use of cleaning equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
EXPERIENCE: One year or more experience required;
SUPERVISION: Perform as directed responsible for own job.
RESPONSIBILITY: Responsible for some equipment.
LICENSE: Valid Drivers License.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs extensive walking standing and bending.
