This is a training role designed to build the skills and confidence needed to progress into an Industrial Officer role. Over a two-year structured learning and development pathway you will receive mentoring on-the-job training and professional development in case management interpreting and applying industrial instruments preparing submissions and case materials and supporting tribunal and employer processes.
As an Industrial Support Officer you will provide initial advice information and guidance on workplace issues. You will assist members by triaging matters preparing case documentation and supporting Industrial Officers in delivering high-quality advice and representation. This is a dynamic role requiring clear communication strong organisational skills and the ability to problem-solve while supporting workers through challenging situations.
The role is located at our South Brisbane premises.
Key Selection Criteria
- Knowledge of or ability to acquire knowledge of industrial and employee relations frameworks across the Queensland public and private sectors.
- Ability to provide accurate advice and advocacy on industrial and workplace issues.
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to:
- Communicate positively with a diverse audience.
- Demonstrate respect and treat people with dignity.
- Negotiate and consult with a focus on the resolution of issues.
- Strong written skills including the ability to prepare correspondence submissions and reports.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Commitment to social justice fairness and advancing worker rights.
