AboutThe Position:


The fixed-term Support Officer providesadditionaloperational and student support to the Equitable Learning Services (ELS) team during periods of increased demand particularly during peak student engagement times throughout the academic year.

The role responds to escalated student and educator enquiries assesses student documentation for ELS eligibility and provides interim support to students awaiting appointments with an ELS Advisor. This may include implementing provisional Equitable Learning Plans with limited reasonable adjustments and referring students to appropriate internal or external support services. The role also undertakes routine administrative and operational functions beyond the scope of the Student Services Support Officer.

To be successful in this positionyoullhave:

Demonstratedunderstanding of the experiences that young people witha disability mental health and/or medicalconditionmay have during educational and life transitions.

Demonstratedability to develop and deliver informationresourcesand advice to build the capacity of others in support of people with a disability undertaking educational and life transitions.

Strong communicationskills both verbal and information technology.

Proficient in the use of complex database systems and able to advise on continuous improvements at a process and systems level.

Demonstratedknowledge and application of appropriatebehaviourswhen engaging with children including children with a disability and from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds.
