RN Emergency Room Womens Emergency Department Providence RI 90-Day Contract Onsite Night Shift

Join the Emergency Department as an RN in a Womens Emergency Room setting. This 90-day contract position offers night shift hours with a focus on emergency nursing care patient coordination and discharge planning. Bring 5 years of emergency nursing experience with LDR (Labor Delivery & Recovery) background preferred.

COMPENSATION:

Pay Rate: $72.07/hour

SHIFT DETAILS:

Primary Shift: 7:00 PM7:30 AM MondayFriday

Night shift (3 shifts per week / 12-hour shifts)

Emergency department setting

Womens Emergency Room focus

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

PATIENT CARE & ASSESSMENT:

Implement and monitor individualized patient care plans

Monitor record and communicate patient condition as appropriate

Assess patient needs and provide comprehensive emergency nursing care

Respond to acute and emergent patient situations

Provide compassionate care to patients and families in crisis

CARE COORDINATION:

Serve as primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care

Collaborate with physicians midwives specialty providers and support staff

Ensure seamless communication between all care team members

Facilitate interdisciplinary approaches to emergency patient management

Coordinate specialty services and consultations as needed

CLINICAL EXECUTION:

Note and carry out physician and nursing orders

Administer medications and treatments as ordered

Perform emergency procedures and interventions

Monitor vital signs and patient response to treatments

Document accurate and timely patient information in EPIC

Provide specialized care in Womens Emergency Room context

DISCHARGE PLANNING & COORDINATION:

Assess and coordinate patients discharge planning needs

Communicate with members of the healthcare team regarding discharge requirements

Provide discharge education and instructions to patients and families

Ensure appropriate follow-up care arrangements

Support transition to inpatient outpatient or home-based care

PATIENT HANDLING & SAFETY:

Assist with patient lifting transfers and transport via wheelchair or stretcher

Follow proper body mechanics and safety procedures

Maintain safe patient care practices

Support infection control and safety protocols

REQUIREMENTS:

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 5 years of emergency nursing experience required

LDR (Labor Delivery & Recovery) experience required

Womens Emergency Room or obstetric nursing background preferred

Contract/traveler nursing experience preferred

CERTIFICATIONS & CREDENTIALS:

Active Rhode Island RN licensure (required)

Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (required)

Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification (required)

Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification (required)

Current NIH Stroke Certification (required)

All specialty-specific certifications current and valid

TECHNICAL & SYSTEM SKILLS:

EPIC proficiency required

EHR and nursing documentation systems expertise

Ability to use emergency department equipment and technology

Strong clinical technology skills

LANGUAGE & COMMUNICATION:

English proficiency required

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to communicate clearly in high-stress situations

Experienced Emergency Room RN with 5 years background

LDR (Labor Delivery & Recovery) nursing experience

Comfortable with Womens Emergency Room setting

Skilled in emergency and obstetric nursing

Comfortable with night shift (7:00 PM7:30 AM) schedule

Strong clinical skills and ability to work independently
