Job Overview:
The Shipping Lead is responsible for supporting daily shipping operations by leading associates coordinating workflow and ensuring customer orders are shipped safely accurately and on time. This role helps drive productivity quality and safety while serving as a floor leader for the shipping is an on-site hourly position and will require a daily presence at our RectorSeal Earth City MO facility 7:00 am to 3:30 pm Monday through Friday with overtime as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support daily shipping operationsincluding picking staging packing loading and shipment verification.
- Assign work and help prioritize daily tasks to meet shipping schedules and customer expectations.
- Monitor workflow to ensure productivity accuracy and quality standards are achieved.
- Train and coach associates on standard work safety procedures equipment operation and shipping processes.
- Assist with resolving shipping errors inventory discrepancies damagedproducts and operational issues.
- Ensure shipments are properly labeled scanned documented and loaded correctly.
- Maintain a clean organized and safe work environment.
- Communicate operational updates staffing concerns and issues to leadership.
- Support KPI trackingincluding lines shipped productivity dock flow and shipment accuracy.
- Help enforce company policies attendance expectations and safety standards.
Minimum Requirements:
- 3 years of recent warehouse or distribution center experience.
- 3 years of recent experience operating material handling equipmentsuch as forklifts pallet jackswalkie ridersandorder selectors.
- Understanding of Bills of Lading (BOLs) shipping documentation and freight paperwork.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong communication teamwork and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Preferred Requirements:
- Prior leadership or lead experience.
- Basic computer and WMS experience.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit stand walk and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands and fingers to type or dial climb or balance stoop kneel crouch or crawl and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This position requires computer use. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
