About the Role
The Lecturer (Architecture Digital Communications) is expected to contribute to the teaching and research efforts of the Architecture discipline. The Lecturer will prepare coordinate and teach specialist courses relating to digital communications and representation in architecture. The lecturer will also be required to deliver courses in architectural design and other course areas and contribute to the design culture broadly within the School and the University.

The Lecturer is also expected to actively promote the program by establishing and maintaining memberships links and partnerships with academic industry and professional communities. The Lecturer is expected to work collaboratively and collegially with fellow academics within the teaching team and update colleagues and students on developments in their subject area or specialisation. The Lecturer will be required to teach and conduct classes in disciplines relevant to their field of expertise and assist in the academic and administrative consultative and coordination tasks involved with these courses. Functions associated with the position include the delivery of lectures tutorials learning activities assessments and course administration in line with the Universitys policies processes and quality assurance requirements. The Lecturer is also required to undertake design practice research activities in line with the Universitys research strategy.

To be successful in this position youll have as a minimum:

  • Demonstrated excellence in design with distinctive and innovative design practice projects (either built through practice or original speculative designs).
  • Evidence of expertise in the use and application of emerging digital design and representation technologies in applied innovatively in architectural design and studio contexts.
  • Demonstrated excellence in design teaching with a distinctive and innovative design studio teaching practice curricula and projects.
  • Alignment of design practice research focus with RMIT Architectures research trajectories.
  • Recent and sustained engagement with Architectural practice and the profession.

Qualifications
Mandatory: A PhD or equivalent in a relevant field is required. Applicants without a PhD may be considered at Level A with enrolment in a PhD program being a condition of employment.
