Join Discipline of Nursing delivering industry-ready programs across undergraduate postgraduate and research degrees underpinned by academic excellence innovative research contemporary clinical practice and strong community partnerships. Our modern curriculum leverages simulation laboratories with a strong focus on diversity consumers of health and workforce readiness.

  • Deliver and coordinate teaching aligned to your expertise (e.g. acute care nursing) within the Bachelor of Nursing including course coordination and oversight of clinical placements.

  • Contribute to scholarship research and professional practice while building and maintaining strong industry academic and community partnerships to support program quality and promotion.

To be successful for this appointment you will have:

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate prepare and deliver courses online and on campus including the ability to produce high quality program materials in mental health and where relevant contribute to the delivery of content across undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

  • Experience coordinating students undertaking clinical placement experience including liaising with clinical agencies to support students during placements and problem solve.

  • Demonstrated capacity to work effectively with and to negotiate sensitively with students especially on issues related to effective learning and program progress.

  • Emerging track record and/or recognition within their discipline or professional area evidenced by strong industry links or engagement partnerships or evidenced by publications development of new research initiatives or competitive research funding.

  • Ability to build effective networks with colleagues and external agencies to generate clinical placements for RMIT students.

  • Excellent problem solving interpersonal and communications skills appropriate for interacting with students staff and industry together with a strong commitment to teamwork and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board Australia as a Registered Nurse.

  • PhD in related field or approved AQF equivalency with relevant industry experience (a minimum of seven years of full-time practice or equivalent for appointment at level B)

  • Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children check.

The School of Health and Biomedical Sciences comprises three Academic areas:

Clinical Sciences

Health Sciences

Medical Sciences


Primarily based at the RMIT Bundoora campus we undertake teaching and research across the disciplines of: Biomedical Science Laboratory Medicine Medical Radiations Nursing Osteopathy Chiropractic Chinese Medicine Pharmacy Pharmaceutical Science Physiotherapy and Psychology.

The Schools research was ranked as well above world standard in clinical science complementary and alternative medicine medical physiology microbiology and pharmacology & pharmaceutical sciences and above world standard in psychology public health & health service and medical & health sciences. We have a strategic focus on chronic disease and integrative health care with globally distinctive research strengths in respiratory health neuroinflammation translational immunology and infection cancer diagnostics and therapeutics and cross-cutting themes of: Lifestyle Medicine Digital Health Indigenous Health Ageing in Health & Disease and Medical Devices Diagnostics and Prognostics. Research and Learning and Teaching innovation within the School is supported by a world class simulated hospital digital human anatomy facility state-of-the-art equipment and fully equipped laboratories and medical radiations facilities as well as a significant number of national and international partners.

Preferred: Completion of the Essentials in Tertiary Teaching Practice program or equivalent (if the appointed candidate does not meet this requirement at time of appointment they will be supported to complete this as a requirement to fulfil their probation).

Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children Check and other checks as required by the specific role. Maintaining a valid Working With Children Check is a condition of employment at RMIT.
