2026 Artisan Learnership Programme (Occupationally Directed Qualification Trades)

The Artisan Learnership Programme is a structured occupationally directed training initiative that leads to a trade-related qualification registered on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).

Upon successful completion learners will be awarded a Trade Certificate issued by the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO).

This accredited programme integrates theoretical knowledge practical training and work-based learning components ensuring comprehensive skills development aligned to industry requirements.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates who are interested in pursuing a career in the following Occupational Trade Certificates:

• Diesel Mechanic

• Boiler Maker

• Millwright

• Refractory Mason

• Electrician

• Mechanical Fitter

• Instrumentation

Minimum Requirements:

• South African citizen targeted at unemployed Youth

• Successfully completed Grade 12/Matric with Mathematics (Core Mathematics) and Physical Science or Technical Matric

• Trade related qualification

• South African drivers License minimum code B

• Must not be registered on an active Learnership or Apprenticeship funded by a SETA or privately

• The domicile address must be within the King Cetshwayo District Municipality KwaZulu Natal.

• Attach certified copy of trade qualification

• Attach certified copy of your South African Identity document

• Attach certified copy of your South African valid drivers license

• Attach certified Proof of Residence / Domicile Address

• Affidavit stating Applicant is not currently participating in a registered SETA funded learning program

Acceptance into the Programme is dependent on a successful interview and assessments.
