Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer for a full-time hybrid position located in Dahlgren this role you will be responsible for safety-critical software development for missile systems and weapon system test equipment. The ideal candidate will drive the design development integration and testing efforts for Aegis Weapon Systems within a premier Defense domain environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design develop integrate and test safety-critical software for missile and weapon systems.

• Develop software solutions for Aegis Weapon Systems and associated test equipment.

• Write robust clean and efficient code in C on VxWorks real-time operating systems.

• Perform hardware/software integration for missile simulators and test equipment.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with strict defense and safety standards.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Science or a related technical field.

• Technical Skills: Proven experience in software engineering with hands-on expertise writing code in C and using VxWorks.

• Security Clearance: Must possess and maintain an Active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

• Architecture: Experience with VxWorks RTOS including SMP and multi-core architectures.

Preferred Skills & Experience (Plus Points):

• Experience supporting Aegis BMD AAW and missile flight test programs.

• Familiarity with Standard Missile initialization messages and telemetry formats.

• Experience with hardware/software integration for missile simulators and test equipment.
