About the Role

We are hiring a Lead Developer / Cloud Architect to drive the technical direction of a large-scale cloud-native federal platform built on AWS. This is a hands-on leadership role - youll be both an individual contributor and a technical guide mentoring engineers shaping architecture decisions and delivering robust secure and scalable backend solutions using and TypeScript. Ideal for someone who enjoys owning end-to-end architecture while staying close to the code.

What Youll Own

• Lead the architecture and development of cloud-native solutions on AWS using microservices serverless and event-driven patterns
• Design and build scalable TypeScript backend services and high-performance REST APIs
• Drive technical design decisions and serve as the go-to architect for the engineering team
• Mentor and elevate developers through code reviews pairing and technical guidance
• Integrate backend services with frontend applications and third-party platform components
• Work with a range of data stores including Amazon S3 PostgreSQL and NoSQL solutions
• Own CI/CD pipeline design and maintenance using GitLab and Infrastructure as Code practices
• Set and enforce standards for application security reliability scalability and performance
• Actively participate in Agile ceremonies and support a culture of frequent iterative delivery
• Track and apply emerging trends in cloud computing and distributed systems architecture

Must-Have Skills

• Expert-level and TypeScript development - you write production-grade code not just prototypes
• Deep proven experience architecting and deploying cloud-native applications on AWS
• Strong command of AWS serverless services: Lambda API Gateway SQS SNS IAM roles and permissions
• Expert-level RESTful API design and JSON-based service architecture
• SQL and NoSQL database experience; PostgreSQL strongly preferred
• Mastery of ECMAScript (ES6) JavaScript design patterns transpilers and module bundlers
• Demonstrated success leading technical design discussions and mentoring engineering teams
• Solid CI/CD pipeline experience with Git-based workflows (GitLab a plus)
• Strong architecture thinking with sharp debugging and problem-solving instincts

Nice to Have

• AWS Certification (Solutions Architect or Developer preferred)
• Application security expertise and performance tuning experience
• Background in event-driven or distributed systems at scale
