Join our team at Venndale Rehabilitation Centre where youll play a key role in delivering engaging structured activities that support recovery wellbeing and community connection for people on their AOD journey.

As the AOD Activities Coordinator you will design and deliver a diverse program of therapeutic recreational cultural and educational activities that strengthen engagement and recovery outcomes.

Working alongside Case Managers and the AOD team youll contribute to a structured 12-week residential rehabilitation program helping clients build life skills confidence and connection to community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver AOD education relapse prevention and group programs
  • Plan and run daily evening and weekend activities
  • Facilitate recreational cultural and wellbeing-focused programs
  • Coordinate outings including logistics transport and risk assessments
  • Drive client engagement and encourage participation
  • Monitor attendance outcomes and program effectiveness
  • Maintain accurate records reports and activity documentation
  • Engage with community organisations and support culturally safe activities

Employment Type:Full Time

Salary Range:$85000 $95000 per annum (pro-rata)

Entitlements/Benefits:

  • 2 Weeks Ancillary Leave
  • 1 RDO per Month

Location:This position is based at Kalanos Venndale Rehabilitation Centre 30km from Katherine.

Hours of work:37.5 hours per week 7.5 hours per day Monday to Friday

Qualifications

  • Certificate IV in Alcohol & Other Drugs(essential)
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (desirable)

Experience & Skills

  • Experience in AOD community services or group facilitation
  • Strong ability to engage motivate and manage group dynamics
  • Understanding of trauma-informed and person-centred practice
  • Excellent planning coordination and organisational skills
  • Confidence in delivering structured programs and activities
  • Cultural awareness and ability to work respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
  • Strong communication organisation and stakeholder engagement skills

Mandatory before commencement:

  • NT Drivers Licence
  • Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card)
  • National Police Check
