Applications are invited for the position of Casual Secondary Classroom Teacher in our Waymaker Program at our Carrum Downs campus. We are seeking caring and passionate educators with a strong understanding of and commitment toChristian education. The successful candidate will demonstrate experience in working withdisengaged youthneurodivergent students and those experiencingmental health challenges.

Key attributes and experience:

• Proven ability to engage and support students with complex needs
• Recenttrauma-informed teaching experiencewith disengaged secondary students is highly regarded
• Experience in alternative education settings or specialist assistance settings
• A relevant post-graduate qualification in education special education or mental health would be considered favourably.

Flinders Christian Community College is a co-educational nondenominational College with campuses located at Tyabb Carrum Downs and Mt. Martha offering education from K 12.

The Waymaker Program opened its doors in January 2025 to provide high-quality education for students who cannot attend normal school due to anxiety depression or PTSD. The Centre is located on the Carrum Downs Campus and is intended to provide a differentiated learning program in a counter-stress environment better suited to the needs and routines of these students than a mainstream setting. We seek to see these students grow and thrive in their social connectedness wellbeing and learning through belonging believing and becoming in a way that equips them to live a full and purposeful life.
