Job Summary

Position overview:

The School for the Digital Future (SDF) at Boise State University invites applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor (non-tenure track) beginning August 2026. We seek an interdisciplinary educator passionate about preparing students to think critically act ethically and lead effectively in a rapidly evolving digital world.

The ideal candidate will bridge humanistic social and technological perspectiveshelping students from across the College of Arts and Sciences (COAS) build digital literacies and competencies data ethics awareness and professional adaptability for diverse career paths. Faculty in SDF teach courses that integrate digital fluency with human-centered inquiry equipping students to analyze communicate and create responsibly in technology-rich environments.

This is a full-time 9-month renewable appointment with opportunities for advancement within Boise States Teaching Faculty ranks. For more information please visit May Include:

  • Design and teach interdisciplinary courses and learning experiences that integrate digital literacy data ethics and human-centered inquiryhelping students across liberal arts and emerging digital fields including non-technical learners develop digital competencies and ethical awareness in digital and data-rich contexts. Courses may be taught in a variety of modalities including in-person hybrid and online formats.

  • Collaborate with SDF and COAS faculty to build stackable credentials and experiential pathways that prepare students for the digital workforce.

  • Support the SDF with community partnerships and build an advisory board structure aligned with the mission and vision of the school

  • Incorporate inclusive and innovative pedagogies that foster student success and belonging.

  • Engage in ongoing professional development and collaborative initiatives that advance innovative inclusive and future-oriented teaching practices within the School and across the University.

  • Engage in service to the School College and University consistent with non-tenure-track faculty expectations.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary range is $65000 commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Our standard faculty contract is a 9-month contract (unless otherwise noted) with pay and benefits spread over 12 months. This is a yearly renewable contract unless noted that the position is temporary. More information about faculty contract and work days is available here.
