Job Summary

About The Role:

Love working outdoors tackling technical tree work and seeing the results of your craft across the community Join our Trees and Irrigation team and play a hands-on role in shaping the streetscapes parks and public spaces that locals enjoy every day.

As an Advanced Arborist youll take on complex and large tree works across the City using specialist arboriculture skills and equipment. From precision pruning to large removals and working safely at heights and near lowvoltage powerlines this is a role for someone who takes pride in high-quality work safety and professionalism.

Youll also support team capability by sharing your skills helping induct and guide others and contributing to continuous improvement across the service.

About You:

Youre an experienced arborist who enjoys varied challenging work and being part of a tightknit supportive team. You work safely think proactively about risk and take pride in leaving every site better than you found it.

You bring:

  • Certificate III in Arboriculture Horticulture or a related field (or equivalent demonstrated experience)
  • MR Truck Licence
  • White Card
  • Certificate II in Electrotechnology
  • High Risk Work Licence - Elevated Work Platform (11 metres)
  • Strong experience in complex tree pruning removals and large tree works
  • Confidence working at heights and around low-voltage powerlines using specialised equipment and techniques
  • Solid knowledge of arboriculture practices tree and plant identification and risk management
  • A friendly professional approach when working with the community and stakeholders
  • A flexible team-focused mindset and willingness to pitch in where needed
  • Comfortable use of digital systems for timesheets work records and reporting.

About Our Team:

City Maintenance are equipped to care for open spaces in our beaches reserves and parks ensuring they are maintained and up to standard. This diverse portfolio is passionate and skilled in areas including property management and repair irrigation biodiversity arboriculture trees and sports turf as well as program scheduling and contract support.

The Trees and Irrigation team is responsible for the development enhancement and maintenance of trees and streetscapes recreational reserves and sporting grounds. The team manage programmed and reactive work that involves detailed street tree pruning and care and quality irrigation systems for attractive landscapes.

The Detail:

The position is offered on a full-time permanent basis and is classified at Grade ME6 with a starting salary of $76963.37 per annum Super. The position also attracts a daily allowance of $24.27 per day worked (excluding leave and public holidays).
