Position Overview:
Are you looking for a fast-paced influential position handling a broad range of internal investigative matters related to the code of conduct We are searching for an experienced and talented internal investigator professional to join this highly collaborative Ethics and Compliance team housed in Freddie Macs Enterprise Risk Division.
The Compliance-Ethics Investigations Lead is responsible for investigations related to fraud compliance and ethical concerns within the organization. They will also collaborate with various departments to ensure effective risk management and compliance with relevant laws regulations policies and procedures.
Our Impact:
The Ethics team within the Compliance Risk department is responsible for development implementation and evaluation of a variety of programs that support the compliance ethics and ethical culture initiatives at Freddie Mac including:
- Implementing the elements of a best-in-class Ethics program.
- Providing oversight to ensure compliance risk related to Governmental and Conservator obligations laws and regulations are identified addressed and mitigated.
- Reviewing Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSAs) to understand how process risk and controls are impacting first line compliance with obligations.
- Providing advisory services and effective challenge to first line on risks that could impact Freddie Mac.
- Collaborating and coordinating within Enterprise Risk to provide a holistic view and a lens into the interconnectivity of risks.
- Engaging with FHFA to ensure collaboration and transparency.
Your Impact:
- Investigate internal allegations and complaints of violations of Freddie Mac policy or applicable law. Activities will include interviewing witnesses gathering and reviewing relevant documents analyzing and synthesizing the information gathered to determine the facts assessing witness credibility preparing a concise investigation report making recommendations to management for remedial action updating the case tracking system and assisting with reporting and analytics.
- Collaborate with other investigative units within Freddie Mac as needed to support cross-functional investigations and/or provide surge support.
- Coordinate with Human Resources and/or Legal on corrective actions arising from internal investigations conducted by you.
- Ensuring investigations are conducted with integrity objectivity and in compliance with enterprise and regulatory standards.
- Provide clear concise summaries and recommendations to executive leadership Legal HR Audit and Risk partners.
- Partner with HR Legal Audit and Compliance to ensure consistent and defensible outcomes aligned to corporate policies.
- Maintain accurate complete investigation records in the case management system.
- Continuing growth and adherence to investigative excellence standards.
- Stay updated on evolving financial crime trends regulatory changes and industry best practices.
- Support participate and identifyoperational improvementsand enhancements through daily work and special projects.
Qualifications:
- College degree or equivalent experience.
- 8 years of overall experience in ethics compliance investigations and risk management.
- Exceptional analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to think critically.
- Proficiency in using compliance tools in investigations and daily work.
- Strong understanding of ethical risk areas including conflicts of interest workplace conduct misuse of information and integrity breaches.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills including the ability to prepare executive ready investigation summaries.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound judgment and discretion and sensitive matters.

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $130000 - $194000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position experience skill set internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.About Company
