As a Lead Manufacturing Specialist in Production QA at GE Vernova you will own the full testing lifecycle for transformers and reactors from routine and type testing through to automation digitalization and lab excellence. Your work directly supports the reliability of high-voltage direct current (HVDC) systems that power grids across the world. This is a senior individual contributor role with broad technical influence and a clear mandate to shape how testing is done not just today but for years to come.

Job Description

What Youll Do

  • Lead routine and type testing for transformers and reactors in line with customer regulatory and international standards including IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) IEEE IS ANSI (American National Standards Institute) and customer specifications up to 800 kV.

  • Drive automation and digitalization of testing processes to improve turnaround times reduce downtime and strengthen product reliability.

  • Conduct structured root cause analysis (RCA) for test failures and deviations resolving complex anomalies across HVDC impulse and partial discharge (PD) testing.

  • Prepare accurate audit-ready technical reports and present complex test data in clear business-friendly language to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Lead customer inspections and NABL (National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories) / ISO audits with confidence and support business development activities during technical reviews.

  • Mentor and develop team capability promote a strong safety culture and guide high-voltage testing operations with decisive data-informed leadership.

What Youll Bring

Were looking for a technically deep operationally sharp professional who combines high-voltage expertise with a continuous improvement mindset and the communication skills to bring others along.

Required

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field a formal qualification is advantageous but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.

  • 12 years of experience in manufacturing quality assurance testing data analysis and digitalization within a high-voltage or power equipment testing environment.

  • Demonstrated expertise in dielectric impulse and short-circuit testing systems and the ability to independently troubleshoot hardware and data acquisition (DAQ) software issues.

  • Solid working knowledge of IEC IEEE IS and ANSI standards as they apply to transformer and reactor testing.

Preferred

  • Experience with HVDC technology and testing at voltages up to 800 kV.

  • Familiarity with Lean and Kaizen methodologies applied to lab operations or manufacturing quality systems.

  • Experience managing NABL/ISO accreditation processes or supporting regulatory audits.
