QA/QC Data Centre Engineer

Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented QA/QC Data Centre Engineer to join our team in Sines Portugal. The successful candidate will ensure that construction commissioning and operational processes meet project specifications industry standards and client expectations for reliability safety and quality. This role involves coordination across engineering construction commissioning and operations teams to deliver accredited and auditable outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA/QC activities throughout project phases including installation testing commissioning and handover of data centre systems.
• Develop review and implement quality plans inspection and test plans (ITPs) punch lists and commissioning schedules.
• Perform site inspections and witness tests for electrical UPS generator HVAC fire suppression cabling and fiber systems.
• Manage non-conformance reporting corrective actions and closure verification; conduct root cause analysis where required.
• Coordinate and supervise vendor and contractor quality control performance and acceptance testing.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation test records commissioning reports and compliance evidence for audits.
• Ensure compliance with IEC standards project technical specifications and health & safety requirements.
• Support commissioning management and acceptance testing during client handover and early operations.
• Communicate quality status risks and improvement actions to project stakeholders and leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Mechanical Telecommunications engineering or related technical discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in QA/QC or commissioning roles within data centres critical facilities or heavy MEP projects.
• Demonstrated knowledge of data centre systems: power distribution UPS generators HVAC fire detection and suppression structured cabling and fiber optics.
• Familiarity with IEC standards and quality management systems (ISO 9001).
• Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or commissioning qualifications are advantageous.
• Strong written and spoken English; Portuguese language skills preferred.
• Proven ability to produce organized technical documentation and acceptance test reports.
