Job Summary
Subject matter expert for engine teardown inspection and failure analysis within the QA Dyno area. This role is primarily responsible for disassembling engines following dyno testing to identify failure modes verify build integrity and support root cause analysis. The position also provides technical expertise to production quality and engineering teams supports dyno operations as needed and serves as a key resource for test accuracy troubleshooting and continuous improvement activities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Own and lead engine teardowns for dynotested engines performing detailed inspections to identify mechanical assembly component or calibrationrelated failures. Document teardown findings clearly and accurately including measurements visual evidence and conclusions to support root cause analysis and corrective actions. Support root cause investigations by correlating teardown results with dyno data build records and process history. Serve as the technical escalation point for dynorelated issues abnormal test results and repeat failures. Support dyno operations as required acting as a qualified backup Dyno Operator to maintain production flow and test coverage. Analyze dyno and test data to identify trends variation and failure modes; recommend control limits and corrective actions to Engineering and Quality teams. Install troubleshoot repair and maintain dyno equipment and test hardware ensuring reliable and safe operation. Audit manufacturing processes and product related to dyno performance including incoming materials WIP quarantined inventory reworked engines and finished goods. Initiate and manage nonconformance activities including hold tags sorting documentation and escalation through proper chain of command; may perform limited parts sorting and/or incoming inspection to support production needs.
Maintain required quality and test documentation including audit results PPAP FAIRs RMOs deviations PQRs FTQ and PP100 metrics. Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives including PCI/Lean activities focused on failure prevention test effectiveness and process capability. Maintain a safe organized and auditready workspace strictly following all safety rules and regulations. Work flexible hours or overtime as required attend companyprovided training and perform additional duties as needed while maintaining primary responsibility for teardown and technical support functions. Must be available to travel up to two (2) weeks per month for training.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Technical diploma or equivalent training preferred. Must be familiar with parts tolerances dimensions problem areas various inspection equipment and quality terminology. Experience performing engine teardowns and interpreting mechanical assembly or componentrelated failure conditions preferred. Working knowledge of engine dyno testing and the ability to interpret test and performance data preferred. One year experience with basic gauging equipment (micrometers calipers height gauges etc.) required. Must have flexibility to cover other shifts when needed. Must be proficient with PC software programs (word processing spreadsheets database email) including the ability to create and manipulate documents and databases. Must have working knowledge of the AS400 system. Must have strong oral and written communication skills. Must be able to manage conflict and solve problems independently. Must have demonstrated organizational and leadership skills. Must be responsible enthusiastic trustworthy and able to work with minimum supervision. Previous inspection experience or related education preferred.

Base Pay Range:
