About the Role
The Service Engineer and Operational Field Operations team includes a dedicated group of Field Service Engineers (FSEs) who serve as crucial partners for technicians and service staff across the Ford dealership network. Their mission is to optimize technical performance improve workshop metrics and ensure efficient vehicle repair.
As the Field Operations Strategy Supervisor you will step into a newly created role designed to be the strategic engine behind the FSE team. Your primary objective is to install a more efficient framework of systems and processes allowing our field team to operate with maximum impact. You will focus on developing and administering the tools datasets and governance structures that manage the teams workload and drive performance across Australia and New Zealand.
Responsibilities
VOR Strategic Oversight: Develop and administer a single view to capture the status of Vehicles Off Road (VOR) under technical diagnosis. You will help integrate diverse data sources (Dealer View TAC requests TFOAMS and Jira) and create visualisations to help FSEs prioritize work and reduce vehicle downtime. You will then help prioritise work to optimise FSE deployments.
- System Optimization (TFOAMS): Develop the Technical Field Operations Assignment Management System (TFOAMS) with regional teams. You will represent the FSE users of the system and ensure that the system provides actionable insights into performance.
- Process Standardization: Survey the FSE team to identify best practices across Australia and New Zealand translating these into Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and formal governance that help us meet our objective targets.
- Data-Driven Dealer Planning: Develop tools and strategies that allow FSEs to leverage Fix It Right First Time (FIRFT) data to create tailored data-driven action plans for every dealership.
- Product Development Liaison: Create improved mechanisms to gather field data for Engineering teams accelerating Fords ability to detect and respond to emerging product concerns. This may involve assisting with providing field data to support root cause investigations and leveraging data in TFOAMS to identify and raise trending issues requiring FSE support.
- Regional Collaboration: Interface with regional teams specifically the Technical Assistance Center (TAC) in India to ensure process alignment and shared best practices.
- Performance Management: Manage KPIs for the ANZ teams developing proactive action plans to address areas of inconsistent performance.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Field Service Engineer or in a similar technical operations/strategy role.
- Analytical Mindset: A comfort around data and the ability to see the big picture. A high level of proficiency in Excel is required. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in Alteryx Power BI or similar data visualization and ETL tools.
- Process Improvement: A proven track record of (or a deep passion for) driving operational efficiency and building processes from the ground up.
- Communication: Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear strategic directions for field teams and leadership.
- Education: An advanced automotive technician background and/or degree in Engineering Data Analytics Business Operations or a related technical field is preferred.
