Director HR Business Partner

We areseekinga strategic influential andagileHR Business Partner Director to lead talent strategies forkey G&A functions at Vertex. This Director will play a critical role in achieving the vision ofenhancing leadership driving innovationenablingtop-tier execution and integrating technology to achieve superior performance across a diverse development pipeline. This role will serve as a trusted advisor toG&A leaders and their teams shaping organizational design culture and workforce strategies that enable innovation execution andlong-term success. Reporting to the Lead HRBP for theG&A Functions this individual will sit onfunctionalleadershipteams and play a critical role in driving enterprise-wide HR initiatives and change leadership enabling organizational effectiveness acrossclinical shapes and executes talent strategies that strengthen leadership enable excellence and supports Vertexs mission to bring transformative therapies to patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acts as a strategic advisor and coach to senior leaders influencing business and talent decisions through deep understanding of the operating environment enterprise priorities and external trends
  • Uses advanced data analytics and external insight to identify emerging workforce and capability trends; translates complexity into clear compelling narratives that inform decisionmaking challenge assumptions and drive action
  • Architects and leads integrated talent and organizational strategies that proactively address future capability needs leadership gaps and operating model evolution
  • Advises leaders on complex organization design workforce transformation and change leadership initiatives to enable agility scale and sustained performance
  • Shapes and executes enterprisealigned talent strategies to attract develop and retain critical skills and diverse leadership pipelines at all levels
  • Leads strategic workforce planning to align near and longterm talent supply with business strategy including capability forecasting succession planning and scenario planning
  • Partners with HR Centers of Excellence (Total Rewards Talent Acquisition Talent Management Strategic People Analytics Employee Services & Global Operations) to deliver cohesive highimpact solutions and elevate the overall employee experience
  • Oversees and evolves core people processes (e.g. performance talent reviews compensation planning) to ensure they drive accountability growth and business outcomesnot just compliance
  • Partners with Talent Acquisition to shape forwardlooking hiring strategies aligned to critical capability builds with a strong focus on diverse talent pivotal roles and boardapproved hires

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proven ability to design and activate enterpriselevel HR and talent strategies that drive measurable business impact
  • Expert capability in strategic workforce planning from insight generation and scenario modeling through execution
  • Deep expertise in talent management succession planning leadership development and career architecture
  • Demonstrated leadership in largescale organizational change culture evolution and enterprise transformation initiatives
  • Advanced understanding of leadership effectiveness employee relations inclusive talent practices and the application of workforce analytics to business decisions

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in human resources or related relevant discipline
  • 10 years of progressive HR experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience

Pay Range:

$187200 - $280800

Disclosure Statement:

The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors including skills competencies experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.

In this Hybrid-Eligible role you can choose to be designated as:
1. Hybrid: work remotely up to two days per week; or select
