As a Senior Product UX Designer specializing in Automation and AI youll sit at the heart of Hylands AI-powered automation suite shaping how customers harness intelligent agents AI-driven document processing and automated workflows across the Content Innovation Cloud (CIC).

Youll design the experiences that turn cutting-edge AI capabilities into approachable powerful tools helping customers go from ideas to working solutions with minimal effort. Youll have a strong voice in the work and partner with designers product managers and engineers who are deeply knowledgeable in their craft.

Your Role Responsibilities Heres What Youll Do.

• Work closely with product and engineering teams to build alignment translate ambiguity into clear direction and make smart tradeoffs that address user needs and operational efficiency.
• Design scalable systems including patterns workflows and interaction models that hold up across teams products roles and edge cases; apply and contribute to the design system by evolving the component library patterns and usage rules.
• Test and iterate by pairing with researchers to translate user insights and customer needs into journey maps stories flows concepts and interactive prototypes.
• Drive accessibility as a first-class requirement by ensuring experiences meet WCAG 2.2 AA standards; build responsive accessible layouts for complex tasks and dense data including tables forms dashboards search and settings.
• Enable delivery with strong specs by providing annotated design specifications and documentation detailing interaction behaviors and acceptance criteria for developers.
• Model inclusive constructive collaboration to help teams deliver high-quality consistent easy-to-use experiences through shared best practices; operate responsibly following Hylands privacy information security and AI guidelines.

Role Essentials

• 5 years of proven product design experience delivering complex enterprise software with consumer-grade usability and polish backed by strong examples of shipped work and measurable impact.
• Proven delivery of products meeting WCAG 2.2 AA success criteria including responsive reflow considerations and hands-on collaboration with accessibility specialists.
• Design system fluency with experience applying and extending a component system ideally with Material Design 3 and/or Angular Material with strong judgment around component use consistency and scalability.
• Strong product judgment with a proven ability to navigate tradeoffs and deliver scalable supportable and efficient experiences; proficiency with Figma and a track record of producing interactive prototypes and clear specs within Agile product delivery teams.
• Research-informed practice with the ability to translate qualitative and quantitative insights into flows prototypes and iterative improvements; strong visual design interaction design and microcopy writing skills.

What Wed Like to See

• Experience in the AI products space designing for AI-enabled model-driven experiences with an understanding of key considerations like transparency control safety bias and quality.
• Strong ability to break down complex user goals into clear agent workflows task steps decision points permissions fallback paths and human-in-the-loop moments ensuring users remain informed in control and confident.
• Domain-specific experience designing around BPMN or agent building and lifecycle management.
• Proven experience designing for complex workflow and automation platforms where users wire together triggers actions and integrations across multiple systems.
• Strong ability to shape how users instruct interact with and understand AI systems combining prompt and instruction design conversational flow and transparent explanations to keep users informed and in control.

• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
• Professional portfolio that demonstrates both pragmatic and creative thinking including the ability to work within constraints shifting schedules and priorities
• Proficiency with industry-standard design and prototyping tools
• Proven experience creating high-quality and effective design artifacts including concepts journeys storyboards user flows wireframes and prototypes
• Experience with responsive mobile and product design

• Experience leading one or more designers in projects that span the complete product design and development lifecycle
• Experience leading design activities within an Agile product delivery methodology
• Design strategy and thought leadership experience
• Strong oral and written communications skills that demonstrate a professional demeanor and the ability to interact with others with discretion and tact
• Strong organizational multi-tasking and time management skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills applied successfully within team as well as with all levels of employees in other areas and with customers
• Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Strong leadership sound judgement and business acumen skills
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary collaborative team environment
• Ability to work efficiently and independently on one or more projects often with ambiguity constraints of time and scope and technical complexity
• Ability to support work verbally and visually with design rationale data and/or user research
• Ability to introduce new design approaches and methods that drive positive outcomes (efficiency speed to market innovation etc.)
• Ability to provide guidance and support to developing team members
