The Opportunity

Our Canada Gas Operations group is seeking an experienced Damage Prevention Technician to join our Southern Ontario and Quebec Pipeline team based in Mascouche QC. Damage Prevention Technicians play a key role in protecting our natural gas pipeline valves and associated assets in a manner which meets operational needs in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.

Reporting to the Pipeline Manager / Directeur Southern Ontario and Quebec this position will provide oversight for and execute our organizations damage prevention program as well as provide support to pipeline individual must be a self-starter capable of working with minimal supervision who possesses excellent troubleshooting problem solving and communication skills.

The role is overtime eligible and will be part of an on-call rotating schedule in which you will be subject to call-out for emergency response.

The regular work schedule will be:

• Week 1: Monday to Thursday 9 hours / day; Friday is an 8-hour day
• Week 2: Monday to Thursday 9 hours / day; Friday is a Regular Day Off (RDO)

What Youll Do

• Perform InfoEx line locates
• Perform gas leak surveys as reported by aerial patrols
• Interface with landowners and members of the public to promote public safety and protect our pipeline
• Complete preventative and corrective maintenance PMs/CMs as required and close out work orders.
• Complete work orders enter data into job plans create new notifications SAP
• Operate and maintain natural gas pipelines and associated equipment
• Read and interpret alignment sheets
• Lead/manage the safe and efficient completion of low complexity projects to include the coordination and monitoring of contractor work activities or third-party active control
• Provide coaching mentoring and training to other personnel
• Assist with all types of line crossings (foreign or seismic) of TC Energy pipeline assets
• Complete basic as built prints and update related documentation with respect to One Call and pipeline related schematics
• Identify encroachment issues report and manage unauthorized activities
• Communicate and provide damage prevention education to contractors the public landowners and government agencies related to gas operations
• Assist with general pipeline right-of-way (ROW) maintenance activities such as erosion or sink hole repairs line patrols and installation of identification signs and posts
• Provide on call support to the region
• Provide support as necessary to the operation of transfer compressors for pipeline pull downs
• Assist with various tasks associated with in-line inspection programs
• Perform tasks from other disciplines

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum completion of third year of trades program or two years of technical training from a recognized institution
• 2 years relevant damage prevention experience
• Experience with utility locating equipment
• Proven encroachment corrosion and crossings knowledge skills and experience
• Excellent work safety record and a safe work attitude
• Proficient communication and problem-solving skills when working with the public and third-party stakeholders
• Fluent in both English and French

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Utilisphere InfoEx and Geofind Software
• 5 years relevant work experience related to Pipelines or other related infrastructure
• Experience operating and maintaining high pressure natural gas pipelines and/or facilities
• Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and/or SAP experience

La personne recherchée doit être autonome capable de travailler avec une supervision minimale et posséder dexcellentes aptitudes endépannage résolution de problèmes et communication.

Le poste estadmissible aux heures supplémentaireset fait partie dunhoraire de garde rotatif durant lequel la personne peut être appelée pour des interventions durgence.

Responsabilités principales

• Effectuerlalocalisationsde conduites dans le cadre duserviceInfoEx / Appel avant de creuser
• Effectuer des relevés de fuites de gaz tels que signalés par les patrouilles aériennes
• Interagir avec les propriétaires fonciers et le grand public afin de promouvoir la sécurité du public et protéger nos pipelines
• Effectuer les travaux dEntretienPréventif etCorrectif (EP/EC)requis et fermer les ordres de travail
• Compléter les ordres de travail saisir les données dans les plans de travail créer de nouvelles notifications etc. dansSAP
• Exploiter et entretenir les pipelines de gaz naturel et léquipement connexe
• Lire et interpréter lesplansdalignement
• Diriger et gérerlaréalistationsécuritaire et efficace de projets à faible complexité incluant la coordination et la surveillance des activités des entrepreneurs ou le contrôle actif des tiers
• Offrir de lencadrement du mentorat et de la formation aux autres membres du personnel
• Aider à tous les types de croisements de conduitesdes actifs de pipeline deTC Énergie
• Compléter les plans tels que construits de base et mettre à jour la documentation connexe relativement aux schémasOne Call / InfoExet aux pipelines
• Identifier les enjeux dempiètement signaler et gérer les activités non autorisées
• Communiquer et offrir de la formation en prévention des dommages aux entrepreneurs au public aux propriétaires fonciers et aux organismes gouvernementaux relativement aux opérations gazières
• Aider aux activités générales dentretien de lemprise (EDT) telles que les réparations dérosion ou daffaissement les patrouilles de conduites et linstallation de panneaux et de poteaux didentification
• Fournir un soutien de garde à la région
• Fournir au besoin un soutien à lexploitation du compresseur de transfert lors des dépressurisations de pipeline
• Aider à diverses tâches associées aux programmes dinspection interne (ILI)
• Effectuer des tâches liées à dautres disciplines au besoin

QualificationsMinimales

• Avoir complété au minimum latroisième année dun programme de métiersoudeux ans de formation techniquedans un établissement reconnu
• Deux (2) ans dexpérience pertinente en prévention des dommages
• Expérience avec léquipement de localisation des services publics
• Connaissances compétences et expérience démontrées en matière dempiètement de corrosion et de croisements
• Excellent dossier en matière desanté et sécurité au travailet attitude axée sur la sécurité
• Solides compétences encommunication et en résolution de problèmeslors du travail avec le public et les parties prenantes tierces
• Maîtrise du français et de langlais tant à loral quà lécrit
