TITLE: BAND DIRECTOR QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university. Valid Ohio Teaching Certificate RESPONSIBLE TO: Superintendent Assistant Superintendent Principal and Assistant PrincipalREPORTS TO: PrincipalJOB GOALS: Direct and manage the overall program of instrumental music for the district. Provide students with an opportunity to participate in extracurricular band activities and ensure compliance with all state and district requirements. Plan activities to achieve district region and state RESPONSIBILITIES: high school instrumental performers such as marching band concert soloists ensembles and performance requirements enforce academic requirements and verify each students eligibility to participate in for band participation at extracurricular events including concerts football games pep rallies parades band booster club and support band booster club and use evaluative findings (including student achievement data) to determine program effectiveness and ensure that program renewal is continuous and responds to student policies to improve the that programs are cost-effective and funds are managed budgets and cost estimates based on documented program fundraising activities and manage a current inventory of all fixed assets within the the process of cleaning repairing and storing all band and implement plans for instrumental music programs and show written evidence of preparation as and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies activities materials and equipment that reflect an understanding of the learning styles and needs of students ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal an environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical social and emotional development of and enforce student discipline in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and student and supervise students on out-of-town all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students equipment materials and and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents students principals and professional relationships with colleagues students parents and community with recruitment selection training supervision and evaluation of assistant band director(s). the performance of assistant band director(s). duties as AND ABILITIES: To perform the responsibilities as previously outlined.
