Job Summary
Introduction
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Audio Repairs Technician to join our team in Midrand. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing repairing servicing and maintaining professional audio visual and stage equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assess and diagnose faults in professional audio and visual equipment including:
- Power amplifiers
- Mixers
- Controllers
- Digital signal processors (DSPs)
- Lighting equipment
- Smoke machines
- Microphone systems
- Projectors
- Perform repairs and corrective maintenance to restore equipment functionality.
- Compile parts lists and repair requirements for quotations when requested.
- Conduct thorough quality checks on completed repairs to ensure high standards of workmanship and reliability.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs diagnostics and parts used.
- Ensure workshop tools and testing equipment are properly maintained and used safely.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance where required.

- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of analogue and digital audio systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Good attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Relevant technical qualification or certification will be advantageous.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with live event or broadcast equipment.
- Soldering and electronic component-level repair skills.
- Familiarity with major professional AV brands and systems.
