A well-established organisation within the construction and engineering sector is currently seeking a Junior Accountant to join its Shared Services finance function. This role is suited to a detail-driven accounting professional with a few years experience who is eager to gain exposure across multiple African operations in a structured and fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate will be part of a finance team that supports regional entities offering strong exposure to management reporting reconciliations compliance and multi-currency accounting. Key responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be part of a finance team that supports regional entities offering strong exposure to management reporting reconciliations compliance and multi-currency accounting. Key responsibilities:
- Preparation and posting of journal entries across multiple entities
- Monthly reconciliation of bank accounts intercompany balances and general ledger accounts
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly management reporting packs
- Supporting finance teams across regional African operations
- Assisting with VAT tax and statutory compliance requirements
- Providing support during internal and external audit processes
- Ensuring adherence to internal financial controls and policies
- Providing general accounting and administrative support within Shared Services
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting Finance or a related field
- Completion of SAICA or SAIPA articles will be an advantage
- 2- 4 years experience in an accounting or finance role
- Exposure to multi-entity or multi-currency environments will be beneficial
- Experience with month-end processes and reconciliations
- Familiarity with ERP systems (Buildsmart or similar advantageous)
- Strong understanding of core accounting principles
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Advanced Excel proficiency
- Good communication skills and ability to work across teams
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and grow

R 250000 - R 350000 - Annually
