Community Housing Limited (CHL) is seeking Trades Assistant to join our Internal Maintenance Service (IMS) team based in Launceston. This entry-level role supports the team byundertaking general tasks preparing equipment and ensuring work outcomes are completed efficiently and safely helping to keep homes safe functional and presented to a high standard for customers.
The Role
- This is a full-time permanent role offering a market rate salary with salary packaging available
- The role involves travel between CHL properties and sites as required
- CHL provides the tools systems and support to deliver quality timely maintenance outcomes
Reporting to the IMS Supervisor the IMS Trade Assistant works within the Internal Maintenance Service (IMS) team to provide grounds and maintenance support to CHL properties in the region. This is an important role contributing to CHLs vision of a world without housing poverty and requires a strong commitment to safety quality and customer-focused outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
In this role you will:
- Assist tradespeople and builders with general tasks
Undertake hands-on labouring duties general maintenance and cleaning tasks
Ensure jobs are completed on time and to required standards
Operate appropriate power tools safely
Clean prepare and maintain work sites and tools
Perform assigned duties independently
Ensure tools and equipment are stored safely
Interact effectively with customers and stakeholders to ensure quality Internal Maintenance Services are provided
Adhere to workplace health and safety guidelines working in accordance with WHS legislation and CHL policies and procedures promoting safe work practices for yourself and others
About You
You are able to undertake physical labour for long periods reliable and committed to the right of every person to quality housing.
You work well as part of a team communicate clearly with customers and team mates have a safety first attitude and a focus on quality.
You will have:
- White Card (or ability to obtain)
- Current Drivers Licence (mandatory)
- Satisfactory Police and Working With Children checks (or willingness to obtain/maintain as required)
