CAMP Recruitment & Outreach Coordinator
Position Summary
Identifies and recruits eligible migrant/seasonal farmworkers to apply to Michigan State University and CAMP. Standard 8-5 pm workdays except when evening and weekend hours are necessary; involves traveling in/out of state; is a salaried position; is supervised directly by and reports to the MSU CAMP Associate Director.
Duties and Responsibilities:
40% Develops & maintains relationships with potential students their families & advocacy professionals in order to recruit & admit students to CAMP & MSU each year.
25% Facilitates instruction of admission and financial aid processes; organizes prepares materials & conducts presentations.
10% Collects student information & assures eligibility to CAMP project.
10% Advises & assists students & staff to assure project goals are met.
5% Manages expenditures & relative documentation within allocated budget.
10% Completes projects as assigned by CAMP Associate Director &/or MSS Director.
Minimum Requirements
- Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing 1-2 years of post-bachelor degree work such as a masters in Higher Education Social Work Business or related field
- One to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience with migrant/seasonal farm worker communities
- Experience with teaching and instruction public speaking or communicating to large groups
- Experience with productivity tools and software such as; Microsoft Canva presentation & database software and social media management
- Or: equivalent combination of education & experience
- Possession of a valid drivers license
Desired Qualifications
- Written & verbal fluency in Spanish
- Excellent presentation skills including ability to effectively communicate to large groups of students families & professionals
- Experience in project coordination program development recruitment and/or college/university admissions academic advising and as a service provider with migrant/seasonal farmworker communities
- Experience working with federal/state migrant/seasonal farmwork related programs
- Productivity software skills
