The Opportunity
We currently have an opening for a Category Manager Electronics Components
for our Cardiac Rhythm Management division. This role is located at our Scottsdale AZ location. This is a fully onsite role.
As a global leader in Cardiac Rhythm Management we focus on innovative technologies that can improve the way doctors treat people with heart arrhythmias or irregular heartbeats.
What Youll Work On
We are seeking a high caliber and ambitious Category Manager to join our team in Abbott Medical Devices. This position will be responsible for the Electronics components category globally.
- Assess variety of suppliers products to ensure they that they comply with specifications and meet the organizations quality standards.
- Requires high degree of skills and independence in negotiation activities.
- Typically involved in large and/or more complex purchases and suppliers that have higher impact on the organizations products processes and budget.
- May coach and provide instruction to lower-level staff.
- Individual contributor with comprehensive knowledge in the specific area.
- Ability to execute highly complex or specialized projects.
- Adapts precedent and may make significant departures from traditional approaches to develop solutions.
- Responsible for purchasing the services and supplies necessary for the organizations operations.
- Activities include sourcing evaluating and selecting suppliers and vendors negotiating supply contracts and monitoring the quality and timeliness of materials and services supplied.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOULL BRING
Required Experience
- Bachelors Degree Business Supply Chain or related or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Minimum 10 years Progressively responsible experience in purchasing/commodity management.
- Minimum 3 years in a highly regulated environment.
- Minimum 8 years with purchasing/commodity management software.
- Strong experience in negotiating terms in purchasing agreements.
- In depth experience in contract management.
- Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
- Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced changing environment.
- Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
- Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
- Multitasks prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills as well as attention to detail.
- Ability to travel approximately up to 20% including internationally
