Facilities Technician 3 Commercial HVAC Maintenance Syracuse NY Contract Onsite
Serve as an experienced Commercial HVAC Maintenance & Troubleshooting Technician supporting commercial facility operations across multiple sites. This role involves preventive and reactive maintenance troubleshooting HVAC/electrical/plumbing systems responding to emergency service calls and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Travel between commercial facilities using a mobile service technician approach.

Reporting Location: Syracuse NY (300 Erie Blvd)

COMPENSATION:
Pay Rate: $28.00/hour
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Mobile/Service Technician Environment: Travel between multiple commercial sites
Facility Types: Commercial buildings with packaged HVAC systems
Transportation: Company vehicle or personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement
Tools Provided: Candidate will be provided tools required for assigned work scope
On-Call Support: May be required for emergency service situations
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
HVAC SYSTEMS & MAINTENANCE:
Maintain service and repair packaged HVAC systems and commercial HVAC equipment
Perform preventive maintenance on scheduled basis across assigned facilities
Execute reactive maintenance and emergency repairs
Conduct HVAC troubleshooting and diagnostics
Document maintenance activities and equipment conditions in CMMS systems
Respond to on-demand repair requests and emergency service calls
Ensure optimal performance and efficiency of HVAC systems
BUILDING SYSTEMS & EQUIPMENT:
Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems and distribution equipment
Service and diagnose plumbing issues and systems
Operate and maintain Building Automation Systems (BAS)
Support Fire/Life Safety systems maintenance and compliance
Work with MEP (Mechanical Electrical Plumbing) systems integration
Handle general building maintenance and repairs as needed
WORK ORDER & DOCUMENTATION:
Manage work orders through CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
Complete accurate documentation of all work performed
Prepare maintenance reports and condition summaries
Communicate effectively with facility managers and customers
Track and document all service calls and emergency responses
Maintain compliance documentation for safety and regulatory requirements
SAFETY & COMPLIANCE:
Comply with all OSHA safety practices and regulations
Recognize and respond to safety hazards
Maintain safe work practices across all job sites
Follow equipment manufacturer guidelines and specifications
Ensure compliance with local state and federal regulations
Participate in safety training as required
CUSTOMER SERVICE & COMMUNICATION:
Interact professionally with facility managers and building occupants
Provide clear communication regarding service needs and repairs
Manage customer expectations and emergency situations effectively
Serve as field ambassador for professional service delivery
Build strong working relationships with facility teams
Handle emergency/on-call service situations professionally
REQUIREMENTS:
CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES:
Universal EPA 608 Certification (mandatory)
Valid drivers license required
Commercial HVAC certifications preferred
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 4 years of hands-on commercial HVAC repair and maintenance experience
Proven troubleshooting and diagnostic skills in HVAC systems
Demonstrated preventive and reactive maintenance expertise
Experience with commercial HVAC systems and packaged units
Background in mobile/service technician roles
Experience managing work orders through CMMS systems
Emergency/on-call service experience preferred
Multi-site commercial facility experience
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:
