Job Summary
Catholic Charities Maine Educational Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired Children currently has a Full-Time opening for a Teacher of Visually Impaired Children I. This is a remote position with services delivered primarily through virtual platforms. The position requires periodic in-person attendance for team collaboration and agency meetings and includes collaboration with in-person support staff.
The Teacher of Blind and Visually Impaired Children I (TVI I) is a professional teacher qualified to provide specialized instruction to children (ages 022) who are visually impaired. These services complement the work of the classroom teacher and parents. The primary goal of these services is to enable children withvisualimpairment to be educated within the least restrictive environment.

Qualifications
Qualifications: The Teacher of Blind and Visually Impaired Children I shall have a minimum of aBachelorsdegree with a specialty in education for the blind/visually impaired from an accredited and recognized university or college program. Mainecertification (291) isrequired.
A minimum of3yearsofexperiencein teaching children who are blind and visually impaired including providing virtual instruction and supervising or collaborating with paraprofessional staff is preferred.
