JSE K-3 Teaching Position (Multiple Positions)

John Sevier Elementary is seeking a K-3 teaching candidate.

This is a full-time position with benefits for the 2026-2027 school year. We are seeking multiple positons.

Certification: Current K-6 Tennessee Department of Education certification with proof of highly qualified status and related work experience.

Expectations: Willingness to participate in a multi-step interview process.

Qualities of a Desired Candidate Include:

• Ability to work collaboratively within a team

• Desire to build positive relationships with students and their families

• Complete understanding of K-3 State of Tennessee Curriculum

• Comfortable in using data resources such as iReady Aimsweb Scholastic STAR Reading etc. and the ability to share results with appropriate stakeholders

• Ability to use data to drive instruction

• Possess confidence in integrating technology into instruction and as a means of effective two-way communication with all stakeholders

• Understanding of student learning styles age-appropriate instructional strategies and educational best practices

• A strong desire to build meaningful relationships with students and their families promoting a sense of belonging.

• Desire to organize participate and attend after-school and evening programs such as performances parent meetings and other school events

• Approach to using both formative and summative assessment data to drive instruction

• Exemplify honesty integrity loyalty humor and professionalism in all interactions.

Physical Requirements:

• All applicants must be able to perform any physical duties associated with this position (e.g. lifting 50 pounds regularly sitting for extended periods walking seeing standing for extended periods etc.).
