Project Description:
Manufacturing Excellence Improvement Project Output Cost Quality & Safety
This internship provides a hands-on opportunity to lead a structured manufacturing improvement project within a semiconductor high-volume manufacturing environment. The intern will be responsible for identifying performance gaps analyzing data and implementing sustainable improvements that drive higher output lower cost improved quality and enhanced safety.
The project is designed to deliver measurable manufacturing impact while developing the interns technical analytical and operational excellence skills.
Project Scope:
Improve manufacturing output through process tool or workflow optimization
Reduce manufacturing cost by identifying waste inefficiencies or reliability losses
Improve quality performance by reducing defects excursions or variability
Strengthen safety by identifying and mitigating operational or ergonomic risks
Deliverables:
Output Improvement
Analyze production bottlenecks downtime or capacity losses
Identify root causes impacting throughput or cycle time
Implement and validate improvement actions with measurable output gains
Cost Improvement
Identify sources of cost losses (scrap rework consumables downtime PM frequency spare usage)
Quantify cost-saving opportunities and implement selected improvements
Deliver documented cost impact and sustainability plan
Quality Improvement
Analyze defect trends process variability or yield losses
Propose and implement corrective actions or control improvements
Demonstrate measurable improvement in quality metrics
Safety Improvement
Identify safety risks through observations data or incident review
Propose engineering procedural or behavioral risk mitigation actions
Deliver improved safety controls and documentation
Final Deliverables
Data-driven problem statement and analysis
Implemented improvement actions with before/after comparison
Quantified impact to output cost quality and/or safety
Final technical report and presentation to stakeholders
Skillset Require:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work with data and perform structured analysis
Clear technical communication and presentation skills
Self-driven with ownership mindset
