Anticipated Algebra I Boot Camp - Summer 2026

Who Should Apply
- Math teachers who are certified to teach Algebra I
- Number of teachers who will run this course will be dependent on the number of students enrolled and how many sessions teachers will instruct.
Goals:
- Implement a review of key Algebra I skills for students who will be enrolled in Geometry or Algebra II in 2026-2027
- Run up to 3 one week boot camp sessions from Monday Tuesday Wednesday and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
- Week one online sessions with up to 25 students. Each session will still run with 15 students as the minimum.
- Week two online sessions with up to 25 students. Each session will still run with 15 students as the minimum.
- Week three online session with up to 25 students. Each session will still run with 15 students as the minimum.
Responsibilities:
- Submit a plan to the Assistant Superintendent for Learning of the key skills that will be reviewed with students.
- Take daily attendance of students and notify parents/guardians which students are not present.
- Plan and review key Algebra I skills for students who will be enrolled in Algebra I in 2026-2027.
- Communicate to students and parents/guardians skills that they have reviewed.
- Prepare for sessions. Revise and add to materials that have been developed. Teach and interact with students online.
- Provide students with extension activities. Create a mechanism (i.e. Google Classroom materials or shell) to share information with students.
- Provide Dr. Chen with feedback and progress of students.
Tentative Dates:
- July 13 - July 16 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (Week one)
- July 20 - July 23 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (Week two)
- July 27 - July 30 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (Week three)
Salary: Each week is $1500 (Up to 37.5 hours per week) $40 per hour per BEA Contract
