THE COMPANY
Our client is a well-established privately owned retail business with a national footprint multiple consumer brands and a logistics arm that supports their end-to-end supply chain. Theyve been around long enough to know what theyre doing but theyre moving fast enough that they havent stopped learning.
A new technology leadership team is driving a significant uplift across their entire tech stack ERP POS data digital and customer experience. Investment is committed the mandate is real and the people making decisions actually understand what theyre asking for. This isnt a business that talks about transformation and then stalls at the first sign of complexity.
THE ROLE
Youre coming in as the PM anchor across a busy and growing technology portfolio. That includes ERP POS pricing real-time reporting (Microsoft Fabric Power BI) demand planning warehouse automation a B2B customer portal AP automation merchant facility work and a stream of API and integration projects. More is coming.
This isnt a run the process PM role. Youll be expected to understand what youre managing scope technical decisions business trade-offs the lot. Youll run SteerCo governance challenge vendors protect the team from scope creep and translate complexity into something the exec team can actually act on. Strong BA capability is a genuine advantage here.
Communication is a big part of this. When someone asks whats changing in a particular module ahead of a go-live you can answer without blinking because youve tracked it all in a single source of truth and you know your portfolio cold. Thats the bar.
WHAT THEYRE LOOKING FOR
Retail technology background is non-negotiable mid-size retail is the sweet spot. If youve spent your career as one cog in a very large machine at a major national chain this probably isnt the right fit. They need someone whos had genuine cross-functional exposure dealt directly with the business and owned delivery end to end.
Technical enough to be dangerous. You dont need to write code but you need to understand ERP architecture API integrations data platforms and MACH principles well enough to ask hard questions and spot when someones telling you what you want to hear.
Strong on governance without being the governance police. Youll bring structure and accountability to a team thats building good habits and youll do it in a way that earns respect rather than resentment.
Backbone matters here. Youll be working with senior stakeholders across the business and youll need to hold the line on scope timelines and quality politely but firmly.
The tech youll be working across:
